Since 11 September 2026, a manufacturer of a product with digital elements that becomes aware of an actively exploited vulnerability in its product must report it through the single reporting platform operated by ENISA: an early warning within 24 hours, a vulnerability notification within 72 hours, and a final report no later than 14 days after a corrective or mitigating measure is available (Regulation (EU) 2024/2847, Article 14). The deadlines run in real time, and they start before anyone inside the company has agreed who owns them.

Every manufacturer preparing for Article 14 faces the same three questions: how would we find out in time, who starts the clock, and what do we have to be able to show afterwards.
